How Are Women Balancing Family Life & Being Their Own Boss?
By Bell Rushing
It’s certainly true! There are more & more Women who are Balancing Family Life and Being Their Own Boss, especially Stay-at-Home and Single-Parent Moms! Many of these Women are making Full-Time pay and ONLY working Part-Time hours. So, what do these Women have in common? The equation is… Having a burning Desire plus Determination equals Success! So, let’s take a closer look to see how Stay-at-Home and Single-Parent Moms (also known as, “Mom~preneurs”); and Ex-Corporate Women are balancing Family Life, while being their own Boss… Is it Possible?

Scheduling is KEY…
Women are finding that having a flexible “Schedule” is one of the key factors to balancing Family Life while being their own Boss! They no longer have the constraints of working a 9 to 5 work schedule, because they are choosing to create a Life by Design versus a Life by Default! Women are realizing they want a better quality of Life for themselves & their families. Imagine having EXTRA time to spend with your kids, while getting chores done, and even squeezing in a few long walks – while you still make good money. When owning your own Home-Based Business, your schedule can be anything that you need it to be! For example, if you have a toddler who wakes up at 8 am, you can wake up earlier to respond to emails, phone calls, and other business related matters. You can also choose to schedule your work time around play time and nap time to get work done as well. Also, scheduling a few hours on the weekends allows you to get ahead for the upcoming week. On average, Women Entrepreneurs are working less than 30 hours per week; with flexible schedules and still earn Full-Time salaries. And some Women make much, much more!

Tip: Make sure you have a well-written schedule / plan & check-off your accomplishments.

Asking for Help is KEY…
Another key factor that Women with a Home-Based Business are using is asking for a little assistance from family, friends & neighbors. If you live with a spouse or partner who is willing to lend a helping hand, evenings is a perfect time to get work done. Your spouse or partner can

enjoy quality time with the children while you take a few hours to complete your work day. Also, ask for help when planning the weekly dinner menu & map-out which days each person is making dinner or responsible for catering healthy dinners for the family. Yes, men can cook too! If your spouse or partner is not able to give you a helping hand, look to friends or neighbors. Some “Mom~preneurs” have standing dates with grandparents or family friends to have their children spend time at their house. This gives the children some away time and Mom some quiet time to work.

Tip: Allow personal calls to go to voice mail and return them in the evenings & on weekends.

Adjusting is KEY…
One of the biggest keys to balancing Family Life and being an Entrepreneur is being able to make adjustments. If your child suddenly decides not to take a nap in the afternoon, you want to be prepared by having a special toy box for quiet toys during their quiet time, while you are focused on getting your work accomplished. Also, understanding that work doesn’t disappear when you’re sick, so you may have to take a sick day and catch up when you can.

Tip: If you can’t find a product you’re looking for, you may have stumbled on a Business Idea…

Working from home is one of the best ways to not only create Financial Freedom, but to raise your children without having to rely on daycares or the school system. Ask yourself this question… Do I have a Burning Desire & the Determination to Balance Family Life, while Being My Own Boss? Is it Possible? Absolutely! That’s if YOU Believe It Is…
