While the specifics of the tradition have shifted over the centuries, the new year’s resolution may be as old as human civilization. The new year signals rebirth, renewal. And what better resolution than the addition of brain training to your daily schedule, which can stimulate new brain cell growth and reawaken those sluggish neurons.

Many well worn resolutions take us in the direction of better brain health – physical exercise, dieting, and quitting smoking. About the Author

Tina Razzell is a happily married mom with three boys and a girl. Originally from England, she now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.

She’s been homeschooling for what seems like forever, and vaguely remembers a life before kids.

Keep Your Kids Safe While Riding Their Bike

Most parents spend time protecting their children and teaching them lessons regarding safety. We childproof our homes when the kids are young, we teach them how to safely cross the street and we place them in car seats when traveling. However, as they become ready to ride a bicycle many parents don’t put the same effort into protecting their kids on the bikes. Here are a few tips on keeping your kids safe while riding their bikes!

The first part of riding in a safe manner is wearing a helmet! We’ve all heard how helmets can save lives and it’s absolutely true. Statistics show that 80% of children who die in a bike accident each year were caused by head injuries. There were also a reported 270,000 injuries that required emergency room visits last year and half of these visits showed some sort of brain trauma.

Can Kids Be Too Plugged In?

Twenty years ago, while IBM was changing the face of our business world, Apple was busy introducing computers to our kids. In the 1990s, the Clinton Administration further accelerated the internet’s involvement in every aspect of our lives. There is no denying that technology has benefited our society in massive ways, but there is one ramification that has not been resolved: the effect of new media on children.

According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, kids between the ages of 8 and 18 spend an average of seven and a half hours a day with electronic media. This new element of childhood has begun to deliver some outcomes that could not have been predicted. Children certainly lose face-to-face interaction with one another. But even more importantly, they spend far less time playing on the playground, in the woods, or even around their neighborhoods.

Razor Scooters

The Razor A scooter … What does that expression conjure up in your mind? If you have kids, I’m certain that you’re already aware of the Razor A scooter series, but they weren’t around when we were children. However, the concept was, even though I forget the marques from my childhood.

I loved my two-wheeled, kick-powered scooter when I was young. Mum and Dad had their automobile, my older siblings had their bikes and I had my scooter. It didn’t go fast, but then, I didn’t go far either, but it was transport and it gave a feeling of freedom. I had my wheels and I was on the move!

Acne Flare Ups and Prevention

No one wants acne, and it would be strange to think they would. Because one of the key factors people first see attractive in one another is skin and the condition that it is in. Sometimes it is possible to tell another’s personality by their hygiene and how well they take care of their body. Having flawless skin will also add to how you think of yourself and only add to your confidence.

Best Training Tips for Dog Owners

You should train your dog to eat anywhere. You should train him to eat indoors, outdoors and in any room. Doing this will help you in future when you take the dog with you anywhere.

From the very beginning, the dog should be trained to sit in the crate. You can carry the crate anywhere. Potty training is also necessary for your dog. You should have a flexi leash where you can train him to go potty every time.

You should train your dog to be quiet in the car. He should stay quiet when you ask him to. You can encourage him to follow your order by rewarding him every time he agrees to what you say. So he can become obedient and accept all your orders.

Bengals Defense Looking Improved

NCAA Coach Cutliffe Must Make Up Mind

David Cutcliffe pulled off a sharp coaching judgment by rapidly announcing Sunday that Thad Lewis might be his starter for this week’s matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks.

Although I have just one problem with the means Cutcliffe went about things. It mainly is such a trifling factor and I hesitated to even bring it up, although felt obligated to do so.

Cutcliffe acknowledged Lewis was one of various players who had caught the flu and missed practice time.
