When one watches movies like The Cincinnati Kid and Casino Royale, the first impulse is to go and hit the casinos. The way in which they flash their chips royally saying “blind and show” looks awesome. But did you know there are many around us who suffer from gambling addiction. Surprised?? Well this is not a new finding for those who have been studying this. Though a prevalent problem, but there always has been an argument about how to define it.

Medically termed as Ludomania, it is officially defined as “Problem gambling is characterized by many difficulties in limiting money and/or time spent on gambling which leads to adverse consequences for the gambler, others, or for the community.”

There are many reasons why children can start to have nightmares. I have two children, both of whom at various stages of their lives wake up crying and upset.

My young son started to have nightmares after watching the film Lord Of The Rings. He really enjoyed watching the film and wanted to watch it on a regular basis and would even re-inact the battles. I am not sure if you have ever watched this film but it is rather long in its duration and would be a film which my son would normally watch on his own – due to the fact that the me and his mother lead such busy lives.

I thought about why he may have started to have these type of dreams and believed it was due to this film. I then made a point of watching it with him and kept on reassuring him that the people have not actually died and that they were only acting. I even made a point of laughing at some of the more gruesome scenes and by making comments like, as if that would ever happen.

There have been many arguments over the years about home schooling, but teachers claim that there are pros and cons in home schooling but it appears that the former outweigh the latter and therefore, a lot of families are now selecting home schooling over the traditional schools.

Cultures vary and somehow the relations within the family are affected too. In some cultures, family ties are fairly strong, but there are also those who don’t have very good relationships with other family members.
